O! Full Moon of September

 O Full Moon of September

O full moon of September, you rise slow,
A silver dream in evening’s glow;
Above the fields where soft winds roam,
You pour your quiet light on earth,
And lead the wandering heart toward home.

The clouds withdraw before your face,
The night grows still beneath your grace;
On sleeping leaves your radiance lies,
While rivers carry broken stars,
Like whispered prayers beneath the skies.

Across the hills your silence flows,
Through lonely woods the night wind blows;
The birds are hushed, the flowers sleep,
Yet somewhere in the moonlit dark,
A wakeful heart remembers still.

O Bhadrapada moon, serene and bright,
You crown the Indian autumn night;
Old memories gather in your gleaming beams,
And those who live beyond our sight
Return like sunrise through our dreams.

Stay a little while, O September moon,
Upon the earth with your tender smile;
Though dawn must steal your light away,
Your silver silence stays within,
You are a lamp of love beyond the day.

Twin Dawns on Mid August: 15th August.

(Birth of Sri Aurobindo and the Birth of Free India)

 *On the 154th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo*

Bonne fête! Bonne fête, O Lord Divine!

On this mid August, two destinies entwine—

A nation awoke to freedom’s radiant voice,

And the Great Sage's birth make the Bharath rejoice.

For him, India’s freedom was a dawn fulfilled,

A dream long cherished, a destiny willed;

Yet Partition cast its shadow on the morn,

A motherland divided, wounded, torn.

He dreamed of the great Bharat in truth and might,

A spiritual power bearing timeless light;

Not bound by borders, creeds, or narrow claims,

But one in soul, in destiny, and name.

On his own birthday came that glorious hour—

Freedom arose with an awakening power;

Fifteenth August stands forever a sacred sign

The birth of the Seer and the nation's new design.

He saw beyond the triumph of the day,

Toward human unity's ascending way;

India, he dreamed, would rise to lead mankind

To nobler life, awakened heart and mind.

Nature moves through Time’s mysterious gate,

And life still wanders toward its hidden fate;

Yet through the silence, his calm presence stays,

A deathless flame illuminating our ways.

O Sage Aurobindo, to your vision we bow,

Your words are alive and prophetic now;

In every heart that seeks a truth more high,

Your spirit burns beneath the boundless sky.

On this 154th birth anniversary, we raise

Our grateful hearts in reverence and praise;

May Bharat rise in unity and light,

And carry your eternal dream to greater heights.

Bonne fête, O Seer, resplendent Sun of Truth!

Your sacred work shall surely find its crown;

As India rises to her highest destiny,

Your radiant vision shall guide humanity.

Guru Purnima: Beneath the Moon of Wisdom

The Moon of Ashada Month ascends the silent sky,

A silver lamp where countless blessings lie;

Its gentle light awakens heart and soul,

Guiding the seeker toward a higher goal.

This is the night when wisdom softly blooms,

Dispelling doubt and every inner gloom;

The Guru's voice, though quiet as the breeze,

Brings restless minds to stillness and to peace.

Vyasa's timeless words continue to inspire,

Feeding every age with sacred fire;

From ancient verses to the present day,

They focus light on humanity's enduring way.

The Moon shines full, yet borrows all its light;

So too the disciple, humble in the night,

Reflects the grace received from teacher's flame,

Until the soul and truth become the same.

To every guide who opened hidden doors,

Who taught compassion's everlasting shores,

We bow with gratitude, our hearts made free—

For knowledge is the path to eternity.

O Guru Purnima, celestial and bright,

Unite the stars with wisdom's holy light;

May every heart become a quiet sea,

Reflecting truth, love, and serenity.

Many names of June Moon: Flowers, Honey and Harvest : Strawberry Moon 29th June, 2026

The Many Names of the June Moon

The Rose Moon rises over ancient lands,

Named in Europe where summer softly expands;

Among the Celts and country folk of old,

June's blooming roses painted fields in gold,

And moonlit gardens carried stories untold.

The Jyeshtha Purnima shines across India,

Sacred in villages, temples, and river ghats;

Devotees offer prayers, charity, and light,

While women observe Vat Savitri Vrat with faith and might,

Honouring love, duty, and life's enduring bond.

The Eruvaka Purnima greets the waiting plains,

Across South India, welcoming life-giving rains;

Farmers adorn their cattle and bless the plough with care,

Sowing seeds of hope through faith, toil, and prayer,

As the June Moon promises a bountiful harvest to share.

The Honey Moon belongs to harvest traditions,

Among European tribes and farming communities;

June brought fresh honey from the bees' first yield,

A symbol of abundance gathered from the field,

And sweetness shared among families and friends.

The Honey Moon also blessed newly married pairs,

In old Norse and Germanic customs and affairs;

For a moon's cycle they drank honeyed mead,

Believing it would bring prosperity indeed,

And happiness to the household they would lead.

The Mead Moon glowed over northern skies,

Among Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, and Viking ties;

Fresh honey was brewed into mead with care,

A treasured drink for feasts that people shared,

While songs of gratitude echoed through the air.

Though cultures differ from West to East,

Their June Moon remains a symbol of life's feast;

Rose, Jyeshtha, Honey, and Mead by name,

Each reflects nature's abundance through a different frame,

Yet all celebrate the same eternal flame.
