A Guest Lecture on Communication Skills and Soft Skills by the Guest Speaker, Dr. Rani Rajitha Maduri, Head, Department of English, Dr. BRAOU, Hyderabad organised by Dept. of English,  GDC Rayachoty.

A representation is given by the GDC R staff to Dr. Rani Rajitha Maduri, Head, Department of English to restore the Dr BRAOU Unit at the newly emerged Annamayya District and another representation was given to sign an MoU with the Department of English, Dr BRAOU, Hyderabad.

Memorable moments with two eminent South Indian Contemporary Poets in English... Sri T. Vasudeva Reddy & Sri. K.V. Raghupathi.

Dr. KV Raghupathi Sir takes us to Brihadeeswara Temple, Tanjavur, The shrine of Tyagaraja Swamy, and 5 Diya Tirupati Temples around Tiruvarur, Tamilnadu. 

A Memory with Padmasree Manoj Dass

 In 2014, I went to Pondicheri to present a paper in Kanchi Mamunivar PG Center. The Chief Guests of the Seminar are Padma Bhushan Manoj Dass, Dr KV Raghupati & Dr P Raja. That was the college where Dr. P Raja Sir was actually working. Dr Raja completed his Ph D on Dr Monoj Dass. Dr KV Raghupathi Sir gave some of his books to Padma Bhushan Manoj Doss Sir after the seminar. Dr Manoj Das studied and was impressed by the writings of Dr KV Raghupathi. He invited Dr KV Raghupathi Sir through his disciple, Dr P Raja. 

Dr KV Raghupathi, Dr P Raja & I visited his home to meet Dr Manoj Doss for the Morning Talk. His house is just behind the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. That was an excellent opportunity to meet such a literary giant so closely. He seems simple but has a Royal Personality and a signature genuine smile. He discussed his writing career and experiences with KVR Sir. He specially prepared and offered us Kashmiri Chai with Tulsi along with Breakfast. Those memories are afresh in my consciousness.

Two Eminent Indo - English poets from Rayalaseema

 Two eminent Indo-English poets from Tirupati, Rayalaseema Region, Andhra Pradesh are Sri T.V. Reddy, who excelled in representing rural scenes in his 13 poetry collections, and Dr. K.V. Raghupathi, who established his place in contemporary Indian poetry in English with 13 poetry collections, 9 critical anthologies, and 8 books on Yoga. Dr. K.V. Raghupathi has always held T.V. Reddy in high esteem. He has done considerable work on T.V. Reddy's poetry, publishing half a dozen articles, reviewing half a dozen books, and editing the complete works titled "The Rural Muse: The Poetry of T. Vasudeva Reddy." It was Raghupathi who exposed him and his writings to the poetic world after T.V. Reddy's retirement from his job and literary career. Raghupathi also introduced T.V. Reddy to GIEWEC. Subsequently, T.V. Reddy began his second innings and successfully contributed to Indian writings in English.  His publications in English include: a) 13 poetry books, b) 3 critical works, c) 2 novels, d) 1 collection of short stories, and e) 1 grammar book in English. M.Phil. and Ph.D. theses have been written on his works, and 4 critical works have been published about him, 2 from India and 2 from the USA, and he is featured in many critical texts. He has been serving as the Honorary President of the Guild of Indian English Writers, Editors & Critics (GIEWEC) since 2012.

Dear Raghu Sir, 

I once again reminded that traumatic accident which happened in your life. I have only played a small part which nature directed. I don't know if it would become the turning point in your sadhana. It's a kind of deconstruction of the event genuinely. A wonderful experience retold.

The short story collection, *'Untouchable Piglet'* of Dr. KV Raghupathi, is a collection of true events he experienced in his life. In other words we can say that the stories present a glimpse which makes us surprised, think. The narrative always would be gripping. There are two events which he miraculously escaped death. The 8th and 9th stories offer us a chance to look into the real picture. I am immortalised in the 9th short story, *Escape from Hospital*.  In the real situation or in the story i entered the scene when he was coming to consciousness partially and off. The university staff and Vice chancellor were returning to the university. The Hospital staff and a few humble students are still there waiting. He recognised me in the crowd and uttered slowly my name Ramana ... over 8 to 10 times. Then after 10 minutes he said to the students to go to the University... Ramana will stay here...that's enough. You go to the classes. Ramana will take care. Then the students left the hospital after knowing a few details about me.

Raghupathi is one of the contributory authors, and the book being published by Authors press, New Delhi and released this weekend carries two of his thought-provoking articles, *1* . *Yogic View of ‘Self’* (4,900 words), and *2* . *Death, Dying, and Liberation in Tibetan Buddhism* (12, 700 words).

Yoga Diary of Dr KV Raghupathi

Yoga Diary of Dr. Raghupathi is the outcome of over 40 years of intense yoga practice. He shared these profound thoughts daily at the time of COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak during 2019-21 in a small What's app group by the name 'KVR Literary Circle'. These thoughts keep us fearless and gave food for thought to many of us. Your short crispy messages kept us in an  intellectual pursuit when the world around us is traumatized by Ist and IInd Waves of COVID-19 Pandemic. The thoughts he shared flow naturally and spontaneously without any reference from scripture or religion. The wisdom shared is outstanding.

*Yoga Expert, Dr KV Raghupathi Felicitated.*

 

Dr. K. V. Raghupathi, a resident of Chiguruwada, Tirupathi, a Yoga Expert, has practiced Yoga in the ancient Patanjali order for over 40 years. He gave 10 days of free yoga training to degree students and NCC Cadets of the Government. Degree College, Rayachoty from 12.06.2022 to 21.06.2022. The training ended Today on the 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2022). The Principal, Staff, and Students felicitated Dr. K.V. Raghupathi with a shawl and a memento.

He was earlier honoured with 'Lifetime Achievement Award in Yoga' by the Central Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi in 2018 due to his yogic life and yogic writings. He had delivered talks on Sri Aurobindo's 'Synthesis of Yoga' for 4 years at the Sri Aurobindo Center, Tirupati. These talks were brought into a book form as 1. Yoga for Peace. That was his first book on yoga. Next, he wrote 2. Yoga & Zen, 3. Hastha Yoga, 4. My Tryst With Yoga and 5. Dispersed Clouds: Discourses on Yoga. One more book is in print with Motilal Benarsi Dass Publications, New Delhi.

River Poems of KV Raghupathi

 In recent Indian poetry in English, Dr. K.V. Raghupathi's poems about water bodies in general, and rivers in particular, occupy a substantial portion of nature poetry or eco-poetry across various collections. The poem, “The Perennial Godavari,” glorifies the mighty Godavari, for which you were honored as the best-chosen poet in 2003. The poem, ‘This River Ever Flows,” also focuses on the Godavari. Still, it has a complementary piece, “This River Never Flows,” which beautifully describes Swarna Mukhi flowing beside the Srikalahasthi temple. Another striking poem, “Kavery,” flows unmindful of human conflicts across four states.

An ‘Elegy on the Dying Pond” provides a graphic portrayal of Hyderabad’s diminishing tanks and water bodies. The poem, ‘It’s Business as Usual,” depicts the heart-wrenching flood scenes in Kurnool caused by the improper maintenance of dams constructed on the Krishna and Thungabadra rivers across Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The floodwaters, disturbed birds, and human apathy culminate in a symphony of human folly. ‘Floods” presents another side of the river. The poem, “Images of the River of Maternal Salvation,” presents six images of the Ganges as a grand spectacle. Images III, IV, and V are not just images; they resemble drone shots taken from the sky. Your work represents a fine poetic depiction of Indian rivers, water bodies, water ethics, the biosphere, eco-sophy, and the surrounding culture.
