(Birth of Sri Aurobindo and the Birth of Free India)
*On the 154th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo*
Bonne fête! Bonne fête, O Lord Divine!
On this mid August, two destinies entwine—
A nation awoke to freedom’s radiant voice,
And the Great Sage's birth make the Bharath rejoice.
For him, India’s freedom was a dawn fulfilled,
A dream long cherished, a destiny willed;
Yet Partition cast its shadow on the morn,
A motherland divided, wounded, torn.
He dreamed of the great Bharat in truth and might,
A spiritual power bearing timeless light;
Not bound by borders, creeds, or narrow claims,
But one in soul, in destiny, and name.
On his own birthday came that glorious hour—
Freedom arose with an awakening power;
Fifteenth August stands forever a sacred sign
The birth of the Seer and the nation's new design.
He saw beyond the triumph of the day,
Toward human unity's ascending way;
India, he dreamed, would rise to lead mankind
To nobler life, awakened heart and mind.
Nature moves through Time’s mysterious gate,
And life still wanders toward its hidden fate;
Yet through the silence, his calm presence stays,
A deathless flame illuminating our ways.
O Sage Aurobindo, to your vision we bow,
Your words are alive and prophetic now;
In every heart that seeks a truth more high,
Your spirit burns beneath the boundless sky.
On this 154th birth anniversary, we raise
Our grateful hearts in reverence and praise;
May Bharat rise in unity and light,
And carry your eternal dream to greater heights.
Bonne fête, O Seer, resplendent Sun of Truth!
Your sacred work shall surely find its crown;
As India rises to her highest destiny,
Your radiant vision shall guide humanity.
