Two Eminent Indo - English poets from Rayalaseema


 Two eminent Indo-English poets from Tirupati, Rayalaseema Region, Andhra Pradesh are Sri T.V. Reddy, who excelled in representing rural scenes in his 13 poetry collections, and Dr. K.V. Raghupathi, who established his place in contemporary Indian poetry in English with 13 poetry collections, 9 critical anthologies, and 8 books on Yoga. Dr. K.V. Raghupathi has always held T.V. Reddy in high esteem. He has done considerable work on T.V. Reddy's poetry, publishing half a dozen articles, reviewing half a dozen books, and editing the complete works titled "The Rural Muse: The Poetry of T. Vasudeva Reddy." It was Raghupathi who exposed him and his writings to the poetic world after T.V. Reddy's retirement from his job and literary career. Raghupathi also introduced T.V. Reddy to GIEWEC. Subsequently, T.V. Reddy began his second innings and successfully contributed to Indian writings in English.  His publications in English include: a) 13 poetry books, b) 3 critical works, c) 2 novels, d) 1 collection of short stories, and e) 1 grammar book in English. M.Phil. and Ph.D. theses have been written on his works, and 4 critical works have been published about him, 2 from India and 2 from the USA, and he is featured in many critical texts. He has been serving as the Honorary President of the Guild of Indian English Writers, Editors & Critics (GIEWEC) since 2012.
