A KNIGHT AT ARMS

An Elegy written on the sad demise of 'Saahiti Akshara Bheem, *Dr. Dantu Subbarao*, Lec.in Telugu, Prakasam Dist.

In commemoration of his noble service to Society & Literature.

A KNIGHT AT ARMS

"Have you seen my friend, Akshara Bheem?"

I asked the wind but it was silent.

Then I further try to describe him to her:

"A Knight at Arms,

Who draws his sword for the sake of the good.

A strong mate who can check mate the vice.

His fight is at the other side of the woods."

"His quiver is full of arms and arrows,

Which aims at the darkest follies of the cold valley.

He strives to let in the sunny beams of Jai Bheem,

Unmindful of his enmity with mighty darkness."

One day out of brotherly love and compassion,

I sent him a thousand fold best wishes.

From this side of the woods for his good.

Unaware of his enmity with the mighty darkness.

The mighty darkness chases down my blessings,

Cast it's evil at the darkest hour with a death blow.

That enrages the planets that move onwards and retrograde,

Which turns his stars against him on a dreadful day.

Forlorn, sit I at this side of the woods,

Contemplating his wounds and endless battles,

I can only say this: "He is a true Knight at Arms",

Who can check mate all the vice of mighty darkness.

Then the wind broke in on watching the sorrowful state of my mind,

replies in a soothing whisper:

"Akshara Bheem, your friend, a blessed child of the muse,

Who can make the mighty darkness bemuse,

Uplifts and transcends from this mortal world,

Reserves his place in the higher realm forever,

In the company of The Mother of all mothers."

Jai Hind.
